Forests are the lungs of the world. Forest is critical to sustaining the world’s ecosystems. Current decreases the amount of tropical forest. We must protect the forests, forest destruction has caused global warming is very dangerous to human life. These are 10 interesting rainforest facts.

1. Tropical rainforests are forests with tall trees, warm climate and high rainfall. In some rain forests, rainfall is greater than 1 inch per day!

2. Rainforests are found in Africa, Asia, Australia, and Central and South America. The world’s largest rain forest is the Amazon rain forest.

3. Rainforests are found in the tropics, the region between Capricorn and Tropic of Cancer. In this region, the sun is very strong and with the quantity of the same time each day throughout the year, making the climate warm and stable.

4. RAINFOREST LAND SURFACE

The leaves in the canopy to make bottom layer of the rain forest is generally dark and damp. However, surface soil from the rain forest is an important part of forest ecosystems.

5. RAINFOREST HELP STABILIZE THE CLIMATE

Rainforests help stabilizes the world’s climate by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Disposal of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere is believed to give effect to climate change through global warming. Because of the rain forest has an important role in addressing global warming.

6. RAINFOREST PROVIDE HOUSING FOR PLANTS AND WILD ANIMALS

Rain forest is home to many species of plants and animals in the world, including endangered species. When forest is cleared, many species that have faced extinction. Some species in rain forests can only survive in their natural habitat. Zoos cannot save the whole animal.

7. RAIN FOREST HELP KEEP WATER CIRCULATION

Rainforests help maintain water circulation. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, “the circulation of water, also known as the hydrologic cycle, describes the continuous movement of water on, above, and below the surface of the earth.”

8. RAIN FORESTS REDUCE EROSION

The roots of trees and rain forest vegetation to help hold the soil. When trees are logged, there will be no longer any barrier that protects the soil surface and soil will be quickly washed away by rain water. The process of soil carried by runoff is known for its erosion.

9. WHERE THE LOCATION OF RAIN FOREST?

Rainforests are found in the tropics, the region between Capricorn and Tropic of Cancer. In this region, the sun is very strong and with the quantity of the same time each day throughout the year, making the climate warm and stable.

10. Rain forest has a canopy, which is the layer tree branches and leaves which are formed by dense rain forest trees

Once we know the facts about rainforest we must preserve the forest. An increasing number of human populations in the world make diminishing forest into human habitation. We must ensure that the forests are still green as a legacy for our children and grandchildren.
