Shakespeare fact is an interesting topic that we will discuss in this post. William Shakespeare was an English writer who is often referred to as one of the greatest English poet. He wrote about 38 plays of tragedy, comedy, history, and 154 sonatas, two narrative poems, and other poems. He wrote between the years 1585 and 1613 and his work has been translated in almost all languages in the world and performed live on stage more than any other playwright. Shakespeare lived to 52. It is known that he was born in April 1564 and that he died on 23 April 1616. We know that he was baptized on 26 April 1564 and scholars now believe that he was born on 23 April. He died at fifty-second birthday, to coincide with St George’s Day. How fitting that the great English writers so closely identified with the patron saint of England.

Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway when he was 17. He was 26 and she was pregnant when they married. Their first child was born six months after the wedding.

Hathawy Shakespeare and Anne have three children together – a son, Hamnet, who died in 1596, and two daughters, Susanna and Judith. Only granddaughter Elizabeth – daughter Susanna – died childless in 1670.

One of the relatives on the mother’s Shakespeare, William Arden, was arrested for plotting against Queen Elizabeth I, imprisoned in the Tower of London and executed.

During his lifetime, Shakespeare wrote 37 plays and 154 sonnets! This means the average of about 1.5 plays a year since he first started writing in 1589. His last play The Two Noble relatives taken into account were written in 1613 when he was 49 years old.
